Teenage bassist Gabriel Severn developed a love for the instrument before he could even talk. His devotion to music and his desire to master every aspect of the bass has taken him on an eventful journey: he's received five DownBeat awards, two Jazz Education Network awards, and a nomination from the Central PA Music Hall of Fame. He's also performed coast to coast, appeared at many notable music festivals, performed alongside several of his musical idols, recorded his award-winning original music with prominent jazz artists, and has had his music spun on radio around the world - all before his 15th Birthday.

Teen Town is Gabriel's DownBeat award-winning, powerhouse jazz fusion trio. With Logan Bedard (17) on drums, and Connor Rohrer (19) on keyboards, these teenagers are taking audiences by storm with their fresh approach to fusion, their undeniable chemistry, and their exceptional talent and energy. Named after one of the great jazz fusion tunes of the '70s, their sets span several genres and decades, and include originals and covers by luminaries such as the Average White Band, Weather Report, and Chick Corea.

A love of Brazilian bossa nova and samba inspired Gabriel to write the tune, "Song for Fina", which he dedicated to a close family friend for her birthday. "Song for Fina" evolved into a DownBeat award-winning composition, and Gabriel made his recording debut with the single in late 2018. In early 2019 he released his follow-up tune, "Kick Start". He dedicated it to his Kickstarter backers, and it earned him another DownBeat award for composition. On both recordings, he teamed up with multiple Emmy Award winner and multiple GRAMMY Award nominee Chieli Minucci, who produced and played guitar. Also featured on the project are Special EFX members and world-class musicians Joel Rosenblatt  on drums and Jay Rowe on keys. "Song for Fina" has been selected by the Jazz Education Network to be performed by the U.S. Navy Commodores at the 2020 JEN conference in New Orleans.
